The National Weather Service office in Calera had issued a freezing rain advisory for the area this morning, but that has since been canceled.
Most area schools delayed the start of classes this morning by two hours to avoid having students and staff travel on icy roads.
Weather Service records show no rainfall recorded at the Anniston Regional Airport overnight through this morning. As of about 6 a.m., temperatures there were at 43 degrees, well above freezing.
Some parts of Cleburne and Cherokee counties might still see some ice accumulation through 10 a.m., according to a Weather Service report.
