A driver lost control of her vehicle on Iron Mountain Road Sunday afternoon, causing the car to overturn, Anniston police said.

The 41-year-old driver and an 8-year-old passenger were not injured in the single-car accident, Sgt. Justin Sanford said. Sanford said the woman was driving near Bains Gap Road around 12:15 p.m. when the accident happened. Sanford said the woman’s 2003 Mazda Tribute was on its side when police arrived at the scene.

“When she was negotiating a turn her tire hit the shoulder,” Sanford said. “She overcorrected and went off the roadway.”
