The average American is outraged that any political party would even entertain such an idea, much less want a vote on it. U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is to be commended by every believer in the United States for his filibuster over this matter. Shame on Alabama’s senators and congressmen in both parties who seem more than willing to sit idle while this is allowed to reach a vote. They had better vote against it if it does or suffer the backlash.
Does the Obama administration have no faith in local, state and federal authorities to handle any domestic threats of terrorism without unleashing the military’s full force on the American populace? If so, they are extremely inept and a poor excuse for leadership in 2013.
I think this attempt by government to make American citizens the enemy is the best example of why a free citizenry needs the right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment. Truly, the Founding Fathers are rolling over in their graves while the majority does nothing to prevent this atrocity. Goodbye freedom, hello totalitarian state.
