Storm warning for Calhoun, Talladega couties

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Calhoun, Cherokee and Talladega counties.

The weather service's office in Calera issued a statement that said the storm, moving east at 65 mph, could bring quarter-sized hail and winds in excess of 70 mph.

Saks, Anniston, Jacksonville, Alexandria and Blue Mountain all could be impact by the storm, the warning statement said.

The warning is in effect through 5 p.m.
