A 7-year-old girl was reportedly touched inappropriately by a neighbor Saturday, according to Anniston police.

Sgt. Chris Sparks said the Department of Human Resources told police that the Anniston girl was visiting a neighbor’s house on the 700 block of Front Street Sunday between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

During that time, the neighbor allegedly touched the girl in a sexual manner, Sparks said.

The incident is still under investigation by DHR, the Calhoun-Cleburne Children’s Center and Anniston police.

A suspect is likely to be charged with sexual abuse of a child less than 12, a felony, according to the sergeant.
