For months I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with people and why they dump their dogs at the shelters. I don’t understand.

You go out and buy cute little puppies and a year later you decide the puppy is not cute and they’ve become an adult dog. They eat more, take up more room or you don’t have time for them. Excuses! Excuses! Excuses! I’ve heard the best, but to me they don’t make sense.

You may think animals don’t have feelings, but they do. When you take them to the shelter and dump them, or dump them on a back road, they grieve for you. Only evil people do this. When dogs and cats have babies who die, they grieve for them just like human moms do. Furthermore, why don’t you neuter and spade your animal so they won’t multiply and end up dumped? It is a ridiculous cycle.

If you can’t or won’t commit yourself to 12 to 15 years for an animal, don’t get one. If you’re going to abuse these animals, don’t get one. Dumping is a form of abuse. Stop buying from puppy mills that keep their dogs in terrible shape. They live in abuse and their puppies are born into abuse. If you want a dog to love and take care of, adopt from the shelters, don’t shop at puppy mills. The shelters need adopters and volunteers to walk and love these animals. Sometimes that’s all the love they get.
