Three teenage girls were recovering this afternoon from injuries after a two-car crash Saturday on U.S. 431.

The wreck happened at 6:50 p.m. near mile marker 236, according to a dispatcher at the Alabama State Trooper post in Jacksonville.

The dispatcher, who declined to give his name, said a 1990 Ford driven by Jared Johnston of Jacksonville was involved in the wreck. Johnston was not injured.

The other vehicle was a 2004 Chevrolet driven by Alyssa Perkey, 17, of Weaver. Perkey was injured during the crash, the dispatcher said. Two passengers in the car, Emily Huckaby, 17, of Anniston, and Cassidy Bishop, 13, of Anniston, also were injured.

The dispatcher was unsure which hospital the teenagers were taken to or the extent of their injuries.

Alabama State Troopers were still investigating the wreck this afternoon.

The wreck was still being investigated by the Alabama State Troopers.
