A local woman was charged Wednesday with stalking a man, according to Anniston police.

Bretha Lanette Redwine, 43, of Anniston, was charged with aggravated stalking, a felony, according to a police report.

Anniston Sgt. Chris Sparks said Redwine was stalking and making threats toward a 54-year-old Anniston man. The victim told police the threats have been an ongoing problem since 2009, Sparks said.

The latest incident occurred between April 5 and April 8 on the first block of South Wilmer Avenue, the police report stated.

Online court records show Redwine was also charged with first-degree stalking in September 2009. Those charges were not prosecuted, according to the records.

Redwine was in Calhoun County Jail Thursday afternoon, a jail employee said.

Bond is set at $150,000. A court appearance for Redwine is scheduled for May 6.
