A new season of the Jacksonville Farmers Market kicks off Saturday from 7-11 a.m. and runs through Nov. 23. Beginning June 3, the market will also be open Monday evenings from 4-7 p.m.
The seasonal market draws in farmers from seven counties, bakers, artisans and local producers of everything from honey to home-canned goods, artisan breads, tamales, pesto, goat soap, kefir products, medicinal and culinary herbs and even home-churned ice cream.
Every Saturday, visitors can register for the market's basket giveaway. You can also visit the Jacksonville Farmers Market Facebook page for a weekly silent auction.
The market is located behind Roma’s on the Jacksonville Square. New this season, select farmers will be able to accept credit/debit and EBT cards as well as Senior Farmers Market Nutritional Vouchers.
