On Tuesday, February 26, Jacksonville High School hosted a showcase of projects created by 25 students from JHS. These students participated in the Alabama Council for Technology (ACTE) Northeast Alabama Regional Technology Fair held at Jacksonville State University. On February 15, 2013, the students spent the day competing at the event sponsored by the Technology and Engineering Department at JSU.

Four group projects earned gold medals. Students earning gold were Cailley Blanks, Abbie Beatty, Tara Kittrell, Maria Trifas, Caitlin McDonald, Anna Pollard, Sarah Lumpkin, Landon McFall, Kennedy Delap, Cindee Tang, Blake Yates and Nate Buckelew. Three individual projects won silver medals. Students earning silver were Brandy Lee, Lakshmi Krishnaprasad, and Christopher White. In the technology test category, Maria Trifas and Lakshmi Krishnaprasad earned silver medals and Paul Wright earned a bronze medal.

The winning students are now eligible to participate in the ACTE State Fair to be held in Montgomery in April. The fairs are organized for the purpose of enhancing the use of technology in education and to give students the opportunity to demonstrate how they are using technology in their schools.
