Police today were investigating a theft that occurred over the weekend at an Anniston financial advisory business.

Raymond James Financial Services on the 500 block of Quintard Avenue was broken into between 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday, according to Anniston police Capt. Allen George.

George said a 62-year-old employee had $1,700 of personal money stolen from a safe inside the business. A second police report shows $21 in cash and an unknown number of credit cards were also stolen. The suspect entered the building through a window, according to the reports.

A representative from Raymond James who declined to give her name said the only damage the business sustained was the broken window. The woman said the stolen credit cards belonged to employees and no customer information was compromised during the break-in.

George said today that police were searching for suspects.

A suspect could face charges of two counts of second-degree theft, according to police reports.
