The Cleburne County High School Drama Club and students from Ranburne High School will present the classic musical Grease on May 10 and 11 (2 performances). These students have worked diligently on this project and I know it will be a treat! Tickets are $10 and $20 and can be purchased at the school and at City Hall.
This is a wonderful program that has untold benefits for young ladies in the Cleburne County School system. It is a week long program held annually during July. The program objective is to build inner skills and work on outward appearance to facilitate success in school and in the work force. Young women apply through their school counselors and complete interviews prior to selection for each year’s class of twenty participants. Through the Clebuerne County Extensions Office and community volunteers, this week long program will make a startling difference in the lives of many young ladies. For more information about donating to this project, call the Extension Office at 463.2620.
A Little Boy Brings Joy
I have spoken many times about the unofficially organization that I am a part of. It is the PGA ... Proud Grandparent Association. My dear friend, Janet Turner, is a charter member. This past week, she became even prouder! Janet’s daughter and her husband became parents for the third time! Wes and Stacy Littleton welcomed into their heart and home an adorable son, Leyton Charles Littleton. Leyton was born on May 1 and weighed six pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. His fan club has already been organized. Leaders of that club are big sister, Jacy and big brother Jake.
eLeyton is a lucky young man in many ways. He is surrounded by an adoring family and loving friends. Leyton’s maternal grandfather is Eric Turner. His paternal grandparents are David and Dallas Littleton. Great grandparents are J.C. Pope and Earlene Kooken. There is going to be some spoiling going on! God bless Leyton and his family and welcome to the world, young man!
Until next week ... remember ... Say what you will about the Ten Commandments. However, you must always come back to the pleasant fact that there are only ten of them.
