Police were investigating this morning a report of an employee stealing money from an Anniston fast food restaurant.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said an assistant manager at Jack’s at 1900 Quintard Ave. stole $800 from the restaurant. The theft occurred between April 1 and May 1, according to a police report.

George said the restaurant had video surveillance of the woman stealing money and she recently had been fired from her position.

Police were reviewing video footage and investigating the incident today, the captain said.

A suspect could be charged with second-degree theft, a felony, according to a police report.
