Put away the pencils and pack up the notebooks. Ditch the backpacks and lunch boxes. Get ready for two glorious months free from tests and quizzes, because school’s out for summer — for the most part.

While classrooms are winding down, Vacation Bible School is just getting started. VBS programs begin in early June and run throughout the summer.

Local churches have an array of VBS adventures planned, and with events for all ages, kids aren’t the only ones getting in on the fun.

This summer, kids can break out their cowboy hats and get ready for a Wild West adventure with SonWest Roundup, buckle up and face their fears with a ride on the Colossal Coaster, or find a knight in shining armor with Kingdom Rock.

There’s plenty of grown-up fun, too. Throughout the summer, local churches will host family nights with food, inflatables and live music.

With songs, games, crafts and events for the whole family, these Vacation Bible Schools have fun that will last all summer long. All with no homework required.
