Re “Wrong number: It’s time to examine prosecutors’ sweeping powers to collect data” (Editorial, May 14):

When President Obama and his Constitution-trampling herd of henchmen want to stifle gun rights, protect the murderers of the unborn, harass and blackmail opposition groups using the Internal Revenue Service, sell guns to drug warlords in Mexico, rob from the rich to give to the poor of their choice, encourage illegal immigration through benefit expansion, press unproven science as fact in schools and sleep through the assassination of public servants in Benghazi, this paper and the rest of the left-wing journalists turn their heads and fail to pursue the truth. But one step on your First Amendment rights and you act surprised and get offended.

Did you expect them to treat you better than the other rank-and-file citizens? Tyrants are tyrants. The Constitution is the greatest protection of law in the history of the world, but the left only defends it when it agrees with them. Journalism is the investigation and recording of truth. People of character would report violations of those offenses that don’t comply with their personal interest. But that wouldn’t occur to today’s journalists.

Do your job and report it whether you like it or not.
