According to Anniston police Capt. Allen George the victim received a phone call from an unknown woman telling him he could find his handgun at the 431 Pawn Shop on U.S. 431. The victim said he went to his closet and saw his handgun was missing, George said.
The victim gave police the gun’s serial number and the number matched the one at the pawn shop, George said. The captain said a worker at the pawn shop verified the victim’s ex wife, Gail Noell, 60, as the one who sold them the gun.
George said the victim told police he and Noell had spent time together since the divorce. Noell told police she had the victim’s permission to sell the gun. The victim told police she did not have permission to sell the gun, George said.
Noell was arrested and charged with second-degree theft at her home on the 100 block of Rose Hill Drive. Thursday. She was released on a $10,000 bond Thursday.
