Senior Cade Bradley, who did it all for the Bulldogs and made the first team as a utility player, led the team with 2.52 ERA and also had a team-high batting average of .481 and on-base percentage of .603. Senior Dillon Terry, who made the all-state team as a pitcher, earned nine wins for Piedmont while holding a 2.78 ERA. The Bulldogs went to the third round of the Class 3A playoffs, losing to state champion Mars Hill Bible.
Along with the two Bulldogs, Zach Cunningham of White Plains also made the 3A all-state team. The third baseman led the Wildcats with a .462 batting average and recorded a team-high 44 RBIs and nine home runs. Cunningham also won five games on the mound with a 4.04 ERA.
In Class 6A, Oxford’s Trent Simpson made the team as a designated hitter. Despite missing the first three weeks of the season, the first baseman came around late and hit .420 on the year with a team-high 10 home runs, including three in the first game of the Class 6A playoffs.
The lone outfielder to make all-state from the area was Clay Upchurch of Munford. Along with reaching base safely in 28 consecutive at-bats at one point during the season, Upchurch hit a team-high .571 with 28 RBIs.
