A customer at an Anniston hair salon reportedly stole $1,200 in cash and left without paying for services on Saturday, Anniston police said this morning.

Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the suspect went to a salon on the 200 block of East Glade Road to have her hair braided. An employee at the salon told police the suspect went to the restroom and then left without paying for the salon’s services, Sparks said.

The employee later noticed $1,200 in cash was also missing from the business. The hairstyle cost $420, according to a police report.

Sparks said the incident was still under investigation this morning.

A suspect could be charged with felony second-degree theft.
