A woman was reportedly robbed at knifepoint by her ex-boyfriend Saturday morning in Jacksonville, according to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Larry Amerson said the 23-year-old woman met her ex-boyfriend at a home on Hidden Lane in Jacksonville to trade custody of their child. The woman saw her ex-boyfriend leaning into the open window of her car and later noticed money was missing from her purse, Amerson said. The victim confronted the suspect, Amerson said, and an argument followed. The woman was able to put the money in her pocket, the sheriff said, and her ex-boyfriend pulled out a pocketknife and threatened to kill her if she didn’t give it back to him. The victim was robbed of $53, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office.

Amerson said the woman was not injured by the suspect. Deputies were investigating the robbery today.

The suspect could be charged with felony first-degree robbery.
