Former Alabama basketball guard Trevor Lacey is headed to North Carolina State, according to Scout.com’s Pack Pride website and multiple other news orginations.

The Wolfpack is coached by Mark Gottfried, who compiled a 210-131 record at Alabama during 1998-2009. He took over the North Carolina State program in 2011 and is entering his third season there 48-24 record and two NCAA tournament appearances.

Lacey announced in April he was leaving Alabama after spending two seasons with the Crimson Tide. At the time, he said, “It was a family decision to pursue other opportunities.”

A 6-foot-3 guard, Lacey started all 36 games for Alabama last season, averaging 11.3 points a game. He pulled down 3.8 rebounds, passed out a team-high 3.2 assists and made more than 37 percent of his 3-pointers.

Lacey was a two-time Mr. Basketball in Alabama as a prep star at Butler High. He was considered a five-star recruit and picked Alabama over Kentucky.
