Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said a 59-year-old woman told police her ex-husband forced his way into her home on the 3100 block of Truman Avenue Friday night. Sparks said the suspect attacked his 40-year-old son by choking him against the wall with a wooden stick. Both victims attempted to call police, Sparks said, but the suspect interfered by throwing the son’s phone outside.

Sparks said a female suspect arrived at the home and threatened both victims with a knife. Sparks said he was uncertain of the relationship between the two suspects.

Both suspects fled in a vehicle, Sparks said, before police arrived at the scene.

Sparks said he was uncertain this morning if either of the victims were injured or received treatment at a hospital.

The sergeant said police were searching for both suspects today.

Any suspects could face charges of felony first-degree burglary as well as third-degree domestic violence and two counts of interfering with an emergency call, which are misdemeanors.
