In just a little more than three weeks, on Aug. 3, runners will line up for the start of the Woodstock 5K. Last year, the event drew more than 1,500 competitors to Anniston. Organizers are hoping for an equally large crowd this year.

In fact, the Woodstock 5K has been upgraded, if you will.

An hour after the start of the race, musicians will begin performing near the finishing area. Included in the Woodstock Revival Concerts lineup are Jim Parks, Gypsy Begonias, Doublewide Soul and McPherson Struts. There will be vendors, a fun zone for kids and even a farmer's market at Anniston High, so don't forget to bring a little cash.

The fun continues in the afternoon for what's being called the "Woodstock 5K and Fat Tire FEST."

Everyone's invited to the Coldwater Mountain Trails for music, trying out demo models of mountain bikes or just plain riding on dirt. That evening a cookout and outdoor movie are planned in the parking lot.

At 8 Sunday morning, there will be a 10-mile trail run on Coldwater. Mountain bikers are invited to hit the trails at 9.  (If you plan on attending any of the Coldwater activities RSVP Brooke Nelson at brookenelson@amcvets.com.)
