A man told Anniston police that he was assaulted by two bouncers at a local bar early Sunday morning.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the 30-year-old victim was at the Smoking Moose Saloon on Noble Street around 3 a.m. Sunday. George said the victim told two bouncers, “I will see you again.”

The bouncers grabbed the victim and hit him with their fists and a metal rod, according to the captain.

George said the victim had a large bump over his left eye, cuts on his face, a bloody nose and cuts inside his mouth. The man was treated at Regional Medical Center for injuries he is expected to recover from.

The captain said the victim and a friend had previously discussed at the bar who would win a fight between the two of them.

George said he was uncertain if the victim was intoxicated during the assault.

George said the incident was under investigation today.

Any suspects could be charged with felony first-degree assault.
