We were reminded this morning that tickets are still available for the 2013-2014 season of the Community Actors' Studio Theatre.
That, in turn, reminded us that the first show of the season is only a little less than two months away. CAST will present the musical "Guys and Dolls" from Sept. 12 through Sept. 22.
And if we are thinking "Guys and Dolls," then we have only one song stuck in our head ... Adelaide's Lament. We've attached a video of the song in the hopes it will get stuck in your head, as well. There are worse things. Or as Adelaide puts it, "A person can develop a cold."
As Hervey Folsom reported in The Star earlier this year, the full season looks like this:
• "Guys and Dolls" — a Broadway musical that premiered in 1950, Sept. 12 -22.
• "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," Dec. 5 -15.
• "The 39 Steps" — Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller with a comic touch, Feb. 6-16, 2014.
• "9 to 5: The Musical" — It is based on the 1980 film with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, April 24-May 4, 2014.
Season tickets are $50 for adults and $25 for students. If you purchase your season ticket by May 31, you’ll be entered in a drawing to receive reserved seating for next year. For more information, CAST’s website is www.castalabama.com or contact the CAST office at 256-820-CAST.
[Editor's note: Updated with change in December presentation.]
