HOOVER -- Preseason honors are stacking up for Alabama sophomore running back T.J. Yeldon.

Yeldon was one of 63 players named to the watch list for Doak Walker Award, which is given to the nation’s top running back. He looks to become just the second Crimson Tide running back to win the award (Trent Richardson, 2011).

Yeldon was also first-team Preseason All-SEC, as voted on by media at SEC Media Days. The team was announced Thursday.

Phil Steele also named Yeldon a preseason All-American, and Yeldon is on the Maxwell Award watch list. The Maxwell Award goes to the nation’s top player.

Yeldon’s most memorable moment of the 2012 season came at LSU, when he scored on a screen pass from quarterback AJ McCarron to lead the Tide to a dramatic victory.

Yeldon rushed for 1,108 yards and 12 touchdowns, with 11 catches for 131 yards in 2012.
