Show to feature Alabama cuisine
An episode of Andrew Zimmern’s “Bizarre Foods America” featuring the restaurants of Birmingham airs July 29 on the Travel Channel.
Zimmern’s January tour of Birmingham restaurants included stops at Eagle’s Restaurant, Shindigs Catering food truck, Miss Myra’s Pit Bar-B-Q, Hot and Hot Fish Club and Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, among others.
According to a Travel Channel publicist, the episode titled “Birmingham: The New South” will feature “unexpected twists in Southern cooking … from a Chinese style noodle bowl made with frog legs and pig skin to sauteed rabbit offal and goat head soup.” It’s scheduled to air at 8 p.m.
