Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the victim’s ex-wife went into his home on the 3800 block of Knollwood Drive around 4:45 and demanded money. Shortly after, another man, whom the victim was acquainted with, came into the house and brandished a handgun, Sparks said.
After the victim and the two suspects walked outside, the male suspect punched the victim in the face, Sparks said.
Sparks said the victim ran into his home, called police and locked himself inside the house.
While the victim was waiting for police to arrive, Sparks said, the male suspect forced his way into the home and caused $100 in damage to a door. The suspect did not find where the victim was hiding, Sparks said.
Both suspects fled the scene before police arrived, Sparks said, and nothing was taken from the home.
The victim refused medical treatment while police were on scene, the sergeant said.
Sparks said this morning that police were investigating the incident.
Any suspects could be charged with first-degree burglary, a felony.
