Police charged one man Tuesday with stealing 14 guns from an Anniston home in June and charges were still pending for another suspect this afternoon.

Patrick Dejaun Neal, 22, of Anniston, was charged with felony second-degree burglary.

Neal was in Calhoun County Jail on Tuesday for a previous burglary charge when Anniston police served the latest warrant.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said Neal and another suspect, Turon Rashad McNutt, 20, of Anniston, broke into a house on the first block of Pelham Heights Road on June 20.

Neal and McNutt stole 14 firearms valued at more than $8,000, two televisions, $400 in loose change and 20 silver dollars, George said.

The suspects entered the 56-year-old man’s home through a rear window, the captain said.

George said a neighbor told police they saw two people hiding two guns in the crawl space of another home on Pelham Heights Road. George said those two guns were recovered, but the rest had not been found as of this afternoon.

Police obtained warrants for Neal and McNutt, but McNutt’s had not yet been served, George said today. McNutt was also in the Calhoun County Jail today on a previous burglary charge.

Neal’s bond is set at $20,000. A court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 26.
