Locally made Honda vehicles experienced double-digit jumps in sales during July compared to the same month last year, company figures show.

According to sales figures released today by the American Honda Motor Company, the Ridgeline pickup, Pilot SUV, Acura MDX luxury SUV and Odyssey minivan all had double-digit sales gains in July compared to the same month last year. All three vehicles are made exclusively at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama in Lincoln.

Sales of the Ridgeline were up 67.7 percent in July compared to the same month last year, while sales of the Pilot were up 32.5 percent during the same time. Also, July was the fifth consecutive month of double-digit sales gains for both vehicles.

Honda sold 10.9 percent more Odysseys in July compared to the same month last year.

Meanwhile, the Acura MDX luxury SUV, which HMA began manufacturing in May, also saw significant growth in sales. Honda's report shows sales of the MDX increased 29.5 percent in July compared to the same month last year. In addition, more than 5,000 MDXs were sold in July, breaking a previous July sales record for the vehicle set in 2005.
