TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama basketball landed its third public commitment for the class of 2014 when Devin Mitchell from Suwanee, Ga., tweeted his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday.

“Appreciative of everyone, I am happy to say I will further my education and my career at The University of Alabama. #ROLLTIDEBABY,” Mitchell tweeted.

Mitchell, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard from Collins Hill High, is the No. 15 shooting guard in the nation and the No. 58 overall prospect in the 2014 according to 247Sports. He is rated among the top 150 prospects in the nation by Rivals.

As a junior, Mitchell averaged 21 points, six rebounds and three assists per game.

Mitchell chose Alabama over Kansas State, Memphis, Wake Forest, UAB, Georgia, Cincinnati, and Ole Miss, all of whom he listed as finalists.

Mitchell is the Tide’s third 2014 commitment in the last eight days, following recent commitments from four-star point guard Justin Coleman and four-star small forward Riley Norris.

Alabama currently has the top class in the SEC for 2014, according to 247Sports, which ranks the group No. 6 in the nation.
