The Talladega County Sheriff’s Office was searching today for two men who robbed a local convenience store Wednesday night.

Sheriff Jimmy Kilgore said two men approached a cashier outside the Coldwater Friendly Stop on Priebes Mill Road around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Kilgore said the two suspects took the woman back into the convenience store, where they stole cash from the register and her purse.

“The suspects kept putting their hands in their pockets indicating they had a gun, but she never actually saw a gun,” Kilgore said.

The cashier was not injured during the robbery, he said.

Kilgore said that after the two men took the undetermined amount of money, they fled the store on foot. One suspect wore a black hoodie, and the other wore a camouflaged hoodie, he said.

Kilgore said today that deputies were reviewing surveillance video from the store to identify the robbers.
