The Knox Concert Series is inviting children to audition to dance alongside the professional dancers of the Alabama Ballet in the Series’ 32nd annual presentation of “The Nutcracker.”

Auditions will be Aug. 17 at the Donoho Upper School Cafetorium, according to an announcement from Knox organizers.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and auditions, conducted by The Alabama Ballet, begin at 1 p.m., according to the announcement.

“The Nutcracker,” will be performed Dec. 8, 9 and 10 at the Anniston Performing Arts Center. There are parts for boys and girls age 7 and over. A minimum of one year of dance experience is required, and dancers must be able to attend weekly rehearsals. If selected, a $30 costume charge is required.
