A 46-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Oxford Monday afternoon, according to Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown.

Brown said Jimmy Lackey’s white Kia Sportage went off the road, rolling over and throwing him from the vehicle. According to the coroner, Lackey, of Munford, was pronounced dead at the scene, which was on the 3700 block of Friendship Road.

Brown said he did not know the cause of the wreck.

“At this point, we’re not sure, but we don’t suspect alcohol or anything like that was involved,” he said.

According to Brown, state troopers are investigating the incident.

Efforts to reach investigators at the State Trooper post in Jacksonville were unsuccessful Monday.
