HEFLIN – Police say there were no injuries in an accident on Ross Street in front of the Dollar General store in Heflin this morning.

At about 9:45 a.m., Tanya Lewis of Heflin was turning left out of the Dollar General parking lot and drove into the path of an eastbound Honda Civic driven by Melinda Williams of Oxford.

An eastbound truck waiting to turn into the parking lot blocked Lewis’ view, said Heflin police Chief A.J. Benefield.

Ross Street was closed for about 10 minutes and then partially blocked for about 30 minutes as debris from the accident was cleared, Benefield said.
