More than a year ago, everyone was worried and nervous about the news that the federal government was selling oil and gas leases in the Talladega National Forest. One Birmingham newspaper paper opined, “Soon, more drilling than grilling in our Talladega National Forest.”

That was June 5, 2012. That fear is as valid as the forecasts of national devastation over the sequester. How has that worked out?

This administration is far too committed to killing the economy with regulations on oil and gas to allow anything that would improve it. It would rather throw billions of dollars at green energy companies that keep going bankrupt, the number of which so far is 33 and counting.
