Four-down territory

1. Finish early:
The season is a grind, and the Tide can’t afford for any of its stars to get injured in one of these games. Alabama should put this one away early so the second- and third-string players can hit the field.

2. Shutout: The defense is riding high coming off a shutout of Ole Miss. While the competition level is different, shutting out an opponent would do nothing but continue to build confidence for the defense.

3. Take advantage of opportunities: With safety HaHa Clinton-Dix suspended indefinitely, Landon Collins or Geno Smith will likely start in his place. This is a great opportunity for either player to continue to prove to the coaches that they are reliable in game situations. Also, center Ryan Kelly is out with a knee injury and will be replaced by Chad Lindsay.

4. Stick around: This isn’t the best matchup of the season, but fans should stay for the entire game similar to last week’s battle with Ole Miss.

Key matchup

Alabama center Chad Lindsay vs. Georgia State’s front seven:
Chad Lindsay will be making his first start at center in place of the injured Ryan Kelly. Lindsay played well down the stretch against Ole Miss when Kelly went down, but it will be interesting to see how he handles a game from the start.

Prediction

I believe Saban wants to get young players in early to build depth and get some rest for his starters to avoid injuries. With that being said, don’t expect the Tide to come out flat like it did against Colorado State. I doubt Alabama will cover. ... Alabama 48, Georgia State 10.
