TUSCALOOSA -- ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. believes Alabama currently has three players who are potential NFL first-round draft picks.

Kiper projects Crimson Tide linebacker C.J. Mosley, left tackle Cyrus Kouandjio and safety HaHa Clinton-Dix will all be taken within the first 20 picks of the draft. He has quarterback AJ McCarron has a second-, third- or fourth-round pick.

Mosley has a team-high 71 tackles with 7.0 tackles for loss, five pass breakups and four quarterback hurries. Since the start of the 2012 season, he has 84 more tackles (178 total) than anyone else on Alabama’s defense. Trey DePriest is second with 94.

Kiper said Mosley is the best prospect of the three.

“For the NFL right now, to have a guy that can cover and be on the field for every down like he can, that’s a huge asset to a coordinator,” Kiper said during a conference call with reporters Thursday. “He’s in the top 10. He’s at number six right now on the big board. He’ll be one of the first four, five, six, seven players drafted more than likely.”

SABAN HAS FUN: During his Thursday night radio show, Alabama coach Nick Saban took a few moments to clear up a common misconception.

Saban said even when he is serious, he is having fun. He also posed a couple of important questions.

“Do you want to have fun everyday?” Saban asked. “Or do you want to have fun when you win the SEC championship?

Of course, the crowd exploded with applause.

Just in case Saban was thinking about leaving Alabama, a fan called in to warn him of what she’d do if the coach decided to take over another program.

“If you ever think about leaving, you better do it in the middle of the night or you’ll have to scrape me off your moving van,” she said.
