The annual memorial service at the Fort Clellan German-Italian Cemetery is a total community effort. This event is supported solely by volunteers who willingly give their time and personal donations of money, food, supplies and equipment.

We particularly want to extend thanks to Anniston Army Depot, The Opportunity Center, the Donoho School, Jacksonville State Military Science Department, Rita Wells, Pete Conroy, Longleaf Arts Council, Linda and Bud Schiff, James Gavino, the entire Duncan family, Anniston Mayor Vaughn Stewart, Chaplain Wilson, Tim Garner and the local media, including The Anniston Star and TV24.

We also thank those who assist in the background and remain unknown to us. It is a large undertaking and we are proud to be part of it every year. And, the most important ones are those who come to pay respects to these fallen dead who, once our enemy, have no family to mourn their memory. We are thankful for the respect and compassion of our community and will see you on Nov. 16, 2014.
