TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron won the Golden Arm Award, which is given to the best senior quarterback, on Monday.

McCarron is the second Alabama player to win the award with Jay Barker taking it home in 1994.

McCarron led the Tide to an 11-1 record and an appearance in the Sugar Bowl in his final season. He has thrown for 2,676 yards and 26 touchdowns while completing 67 percent of his passes.

McCarron won the honor over finalists Tajh Boyd (Clemson), Aaron Murray (Georgia), Jordan Lynch (Northern Illinois) and Derrick Carr (Fresno State).
