Prep basketball roundup: Bolton pours in 36 to pace Anniston win

Quanetria Bolton scored 36 points and grabbed 17 rebounds as Anniston High’s girls basketball team beat Jacksonville 58-39 on Thursday night.

Bolton, an Alabama signee, sank all 15 of her foul shots and made one 3-pointer.

Ki-Yana Bullock added 14 points and 20 rebounds for the Bulldogs (7-3), who play at Cleburne County today.

For Jacksonville, Angel Kidd had 18 points.

White Plains 65, Ranburne 56: Sophie Taylor had 24 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals for White Plains, while Taylor Snellgrove added 11 points and three steals. Amber Greenwood added 11 points.

Shelby Wood had eight points, six assists and seven rebounds.

White Plains (11-1) will host Jefferson Christian today.

For Ranburne, Jessie Ralston scored 18 points, and Alyssa Smith contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Randolph County 40, Clay Central 30: Valerie Watkins had 17 points for Randolph County, which advanced to today’s Clay Central tournament finals at 6:30 p.m. Randolph County will face Horseshoe Bend.

Woodland 62, Cherokee County 28: Leah Strain had 16 points, Shayna Strain 15 and Adre Bowen and Jaide Walker nine each as Woodland remained unbeaten at 9-0.

Woodland will face Cedar Bluff today at 4 p.m. at Gadsden State in the Cherokee Invitational.

Boys

White Plains 78, Ranburne 71, OT:
Nathan Gilbert had 28 points for White Plains, which outscored Ranburne 11-4 in the extra period.

White Plains led by 10 with fewer than two minutes to play before Ranburne rallied. Dylan Wiggins’ 3-pointer at the buzzer send the game into overtime.

For White Plains, Tyler Hardcastle had 15 points, while Dillon Greenwood added 12 and Kolby Burgess 11.

For Ranburne, Kyle Lovvorn had 17 points, while BraydenWilson and Owen Smith each added 13.

White Plains (6-6) will host Jefferson Christian today.

Anniston 64, Jacksonville 53: Qua Frazier had 16 points and 10 rbeounds to pace Anniston, while Davion Tippins added 12 points and seven rebounds.

Quint Dobbins pitched in 10 points and four rebounds for Anniston, which will play at Cleburne County today.

For Jacksonville, Cam Horton had 17 points, and Sid Thurmond added 15.

Piedmont 69, Cherokee County 37: Denard Spears had 23 points, eight assists and seven rebounds as Piedmont advanced in the Cherokee Invitational. Dreek Thompson and Easton Kirk each had nine points.

Piedmont (5-3) will play today at Gadsden State against either Cedar Bluff or Gaylesville.

Randolph County 49, Reeltown 43: Elijah McFarland had 20 points and 13 rebounds as Randolph County (5-3) advanced to today’s finals of the Clay Central tournament, facing Clay Central at 8 p.m.

Willis Knight added nine points.

Clay Central 53, Horseshoe Bend 16: Spencer Loveless had 12 points for Clay Central (3-3), which advanced to the finals of its tournament.
