College football is over and it's cold outside, but today brought wonderful news for warm-weather baseball fans in northeast Alabama.

Two former Atlanta Braves, Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine, and former Auburn Tiger standout Frank Thomas were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame this morning. Maddux and Glavine will go into the Hall along with their longtime Braves manager, Bobby Cox.

Thomas is well known to Auburn fans. He went to Auburn on a football scholarship, but playing baseball for the Tigers launched his career as a pro. He played for three MLB teams, but is best known for his time with the Chicago White Sox.
