It’s a bit of a surprise, especially considering he missed the final six games of the year with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
But, hey, why not turn pro? Would it help him all that much to return for his senior season? Will the class of safeties be weaker next year compared to this year?
Sunseri, a 100-percent effort guy if there ever was one under Nick Saban at Alabama, appears to have gotten just about everything he could get from his time in college.
He has proven himself on special teams. He has proven he’s a tough tackler, which is a must for safeties. He has developed into a better defender in pass coverage.
All of those things should help him immensely, if he truly is destined to play in the NFL.
In addition, he played an important role on a couple of national championship teams.
Why not go? Is there really all that much upside to returning to Alabama?
