Looks like Alabama's numerical influence in Congress may not change much in the coming decades.

According to these projections from the Washington Post and the Institute for Southern Studies, Alabama stands to lose one congressional seat in Washington by 2060. In other words, not much change because of little expected change in the state's population.

However, this report furthers several projections we've seen in recent years that use Census data to expect other areas of the South -- such as Texas -- to make significant gains in population and, thus, in D.C. representation.
