Video Conference Room of Baynes Hall, Alabama School for Deaf,, 205 E. South Street, Talladega, AL 35160
Enter the ASD campus from Cherry Street. Drive past first large building (Johnson Hall) and to/just past second on left. Park anywhere on right. Walk down path between 2 buildings - Manning Hall on left and Thornton Hall (large brick building with fountain and steps up front) on right. Turn right onto walk between back of Thornton Hall and Baynes Hall. Turn left into door entering Baynes Hall. Video Conference Room is first door on left.


Optimist Club of Talladega will conduct its annual oratorical contest starting at 6 PM in the Video Conference Room of Baynes Hall, Alabama School for Deaf, Talladega. Contestants must attend school or reside in Talladega or surrounding counties, cannot have graduated from high school or equivalent, and must not have had their 19th birthday by April 20, 2013. Home schooled students are encouraged to participate. Entrants must speak on the topic "Why My Voice is Important." Speech must be between 4 and 5 minutes. Local winner will receive $100 cash award and go forward to compete for a $2500 scholarship. No entry fee.
