“I own an AR-15,” he told the police chief of Milwaukee, Edward Flynn, during the Senate hearing. “And you may not understand why I want to own an AR-15, and I may not understand what movies you want to watch.
“But we’re talking about trying to solve a problem that has, as its central core, people who are committing these crimes (who) should never have any gun or one bullet.”
On that, Graham’s right — people who suffer from mental illness should not have access to guns. But why anyone not in the military or law enforcement needs an assault-type weapon that can fire large amounts of bullets is beyond us.
So, Graham, please explain why a senator from South Carolina needs an AR-15. We’re still waiting.
