TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama took the field in full pads on a chilly day in Tuscaloosa.
Here are some takeaways: --Tight end Brian Vogler (ankle) sat out of practice. Vogler worked with head athletic trainer Jeff Allen away from the tight end group and wore a black, non-contact jersey. Vogler is wearing a brace on his right ankle. --Tight end O.J. Howard is now wearing a brace on his left knee. Howard participated in blocking drills, but has been limited in pass catching drills. --Running back T.J. Yeldon (ankle) is still limited. Yeldon held a football and watched as the running back group went through drills. --Cornerback Deion Belue was limited again today. This is standard for Belue as the team gives him a light load during the week to keep him fresh for the games. Belue has battled nagging injuries all year. --Cornerback Bradley Sylve (ankle) continues to increase his workload. --True freshmen quarterbacks Cooper Bateman and Parker McLeod are playing the role of Chattanooga quarterback Jacob Huesman.
--True freshmen running backs Derrick Henry and Altee Tenpenny are playing the role of Chattanooga running back Keon Williams. Running backs Alvin Kamara and Tyren Jones are playing the role of Chattanooga running back Marquis Green.
--Scouts from the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals watched practice.
