Quindarious Marshawn Royal, 26, was arrested on four separate charges including possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and misdemeanors including a law forbidding certain persons to possess pistols and two charges for failure to appear, according to court records that became available today.
According to Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks, an officer who knew Royal had warrants out for his arrest saw him standing in a service station at 1731 Quintard Avenue around 11:35 p.m.
When the officer arrested Royal, he found a cocaine-based drug and a .25-caliber semi-automatic handgun on him, Sparks said.
Sparks said Royal did not have a permit to carry the gun, and because he has been convicted for a prior drug crime, he is not allowed to possess firearms.
Royal was in the Calhoun County Jail with a $11,000 bond Wednesday afternoon, according to a jail worker.
He is to appear in court for cocaine possession on Feb. 3.
