The victim told police she was visiting a female friend around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 1700 block of Abbott Avenue.
While she was there, the victim and her friend got into an argument, she told police.
That’s when another woman – the 26-year-old owner of the house – came outside, holding a handgun, a police report said.
The suspect fired one shot into the air and one shot at the victim, who had turned around to leave the property, police said.
The victim said she felt a burning sensation in her arm and saw she’d been shot just above her left wrist.
She drove herself to Regional Medical Center, where staff treated the woman for her injuries.
Investigators have interviewed the suspect, who said the victim tried to re-enter her house after the initial argument with the other woman.
The suspect did mention firing a weapon during that interview, police said.
Investigators said they will seek a warrant for the suspect’s arrest on a first-degree assault charge if the victim wishes to press charges.
