Anniston police today were searching for a suspect who stole $900 from a local businessman.

A 69-year-old man told police his calendar book, containing the cash, was stolen Thursday.

Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said the man had a visitor at a business on the 100 block of East 17th Street around 11 a.m. Thursday. Sparks said the victim noticed after the visitor left that the book was missing.

Sparks said this morning that the victim had named a possible suspect, and the theft is still under investigation.

Any suspect could be charged with second-degree theft, a felony.
