Shamerrial Garrett, a fifth grader at Randolph Park Elementary School, was recently awarded valedictorian for her graduating class. She was also awarded the highest average in reading, language, science and social studies. Her other awards included, all A’s all year, Enrichment award, Most Dependable, Best All-Around student, Citizenship award, highest DIBELS Scores award, Teacher Helper award, Best Penmanship, Neatest worker, Hard worker award, Creative Writing award, Safety Patrol award, 6-hour Reading award, Most School Spirit award and spelling bee winner from Randolph Park. She was also awarded the Principal’s award by Principal Sandra Gunter. She is the daughter of Tamisha Garrett of Anniston and Shaddrix Green of New Orleans, La., and is the granddaughter of the Rev. Larry and Carrie Davis of Anniston; Lee Curtis Sr. of Talladega and Cora and Willie Green of Talladega.
